Tom Brett has worked in Kilkenny as a photojournalist for over fifty years. By work and study he became a reporter and later staff photographer to the Kilkenny People newspaper. For over thirty years he has had his own photographic business as Tom Brett Photography from his studio on the Waterford Road in Kilkenny. His photographs have been published worldwide in books, magazines and newspapers. He took the photographs for the successful book "Treasures Of Kilkenny" which was written by John Bradley and in 2011 self published a successful book entitled "Kilkenny In Focus" which outlined his career in photojournalism. He was a prize winner in the News Section of The Press Photographers Association Of Ireland Competition in 1981. He has been enrolled as a "Member Of Honour" by the PPAI and is a Life Member of the National Union Of Journalists. He holds a licenciateship from the Irish Professional Photographers Association and has also been made an honourary member of that body.
