I have been a professional photographer for 21 years. I’ve been employed for the last 13 by The Press Association news agency in Dublin. Before I joined the agency, I was a staff photographer at the Irish News in Belfast for three years; previously I was a staffer at the Andersonstown News and Down Democrat weekly papers. I have won numerous press awards including, Northern Ireland Press Photographer of the Year 2016, The Press Association photographer of the year 2014, The Irish Photojournalist of the year in 2007. Northern Ireland News photographer of the year 2001

I have travelled the Globe covering news and sporting events and doing voluntary work for NGOs.

I became interested in photography as a teenager living in West Belfast. With the troubles still raging there was no shortage of material for photographers to shoot. I first picked up a camera as a 14 year old during a training course at Belfast Exposed, a photographic collective in the city. They encouraged young people from different religious backrounds to photograph each others neighborhoods

I've been punched by politicians arrested by Gardai and even shot in the leg by dissident republicans while on assignments. However I would recommend the career to anyone, as it has given me a very unique look at life that no other job can offer.
